Experiment Name: Study on gearing diagram and production calculation of pirn winding machine.
Objective of the experiment:
- To know about different parts an drives used in pirn winding machine.
- Calculate the production of pirn winding machine.
- Draw a simple diagram of pirn winding machine.
- Make a short report basis on this experiment.
Parts and drives:
I) Motor 960 RPM.
II) Motor pulley.
III) V –belt.
IV) Machine pulley.
V) Intermediate pulley.
VI) Spandle pulley.
VIII) Pirn package.
Production Calculation:
Motor R.P.M = 960
Motor pulley dia = 3”
Spandle pulley dia = 1.5”
Pirn head surface = 2.5”
Pirn tail surface = 1.5”
Pirn average surface = 2”
RPM of spandle = 960 X 3/1.5
= 1920 R.P.M
= 3840 inch / minute
= 106.67 yds/minute
= 106.67 X 60 = 6400.2 yds/ Hour
= 6400.2 X 8 = 51201.6 Yds/ Shift
My machine capacity is 20 spandle winding at a time
51201.6 X 20 = 1024032 Yds / Shift
Result: 1024032 Yds / Shift
Conclusion: By doing this experiment we have learnt about production calculation of pirn winding machine.
