Experiment Name: Study on spindle and spindle speed calculation of ring frame.

Theory : The ring frame  is the most widely used form of spinning machines due to significant advantages in comparison with the new spinning process.  Ring frame machine used to spinning fibres, such as cotton, flax or wool, to make a yarn. In ring frame, the roving is the first attenuated by using drawing rollers, then spun and wound around a rotating spindle which in its turn is contained within an independently rotating ring flyer.

The spindle is the main part of a ring frame which helps in twisting, winding simultaneously. Sometimes, spindle referred as ‘heart of spinning’. It hold the bobbin, somewhat loosely but tight enough to prevent slippage.

Objectives:
1. To know about the different parts of the ring frame.
2. To know about the function of the different parts of the ring frame machine.
3. To know about the driving mechanism of the spindle

Different Parts of Spindle:


  • The parts of spindle are given below:-
  •     Spindle blade.
  •    Wharve.
  •        Bolster.
  •       Lock.
  •       Bearing.
  •      Bolster cage.




Calculation:

Motor R.P.M = 1440
Motor pulley dia = 6"
Machine pulley dia = 7"
tin cylinder dia = 8"
Tape thickness = 1mm  = 0.0393"
spindle whrave dia = 0.95
slippage = 5 %

R. P. M of spindle = {1440X6X(8+0.0393)X.95} / {7X (0.95 + 0.393)}
                                = 9528.60  = 9529


Result : Speed of spindle 9529 R.P.M
