Name of the Experiment: Application of soil release finish to cotton fabric.
1. Objective:
To learn about soil release finish.
To learn about the process of finishing any fabric with soil release finish.
2. Theory:
Soil release finishing is the finish that allows stains to leave the fabric faster & makes fabric cleanable without significant loss of soil release properties.
3. Experimental Procedure:
Sample: 100% cotton knitted fabric.

Calculation:
Total Liquor : Material Weight X L
= 5gm X 40
= 200 mL
Finishing Agent : = (200 X 1)/(1% X 1000) mL
= 20mL
Initial Water : = Total Liquor - (chemicals)
= 200-20 mL
= 180 mL

Process Description:
At first, we need to collect 100% cotton knit fabric, then we have to treat the sample with soil release finishing agent at 50°C for 25 minutes. Then we dry the sample for assessment.
Precautions:
o Taking chemicals as per recipe provided by the Instructor.
o Taking every weight of chemicals carefully.

Result & Discussion: We observe here the cotton knitted sample well finished with soil release finishing agent.
6. Conclusion & Comments: By doing this experiment we have learned about finishing process of any fabric by soil release finish.
